The Certified Orthotist (C.O.) is a highly trained professional whose job involves:

• Assessing patients at the request of the referring Physician
• Recommending suitable orthoses in consultation with other health care professionals
• Designing and fabricating the appropriate orthosis
• Fitting the patient and providing follow-up care

An Orthotist who uses the designation of C.O.(c) has successfully qualified for and passed a rigorous three day examination set out by the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists.
